Violin

Yvette Cornelia Holzwarth is a Los Angeles–based violinist, vocalist, composer, and music educator whose artistic journey stretches well beyond her classical training. She draws on a rich sonic palette that spans Eastern European folk traditions (including Macedonian repertoire), Arabic, Norwegian hardanger fiddle, Americana, jazz, experimental, and improvised music. As a sought-after collaborator, she has performed and recorded alongside an eclectic array of artists—from Ariana Grande, Kamasi Washington, Van Dyke Parks, and Gaby Moreno to Homayoun Shajarian, Camper Cusack, Dent May, and Anenon.

A founding member of both the Desert Quill Quartet (a performer-composer collective) and the cross-cultural chamber ensemble Bridge to Everywhere, Yvette’s adventurous duet with guitarist Miroslav Tadić—releasing the acclaimed album LUKA on Croatia Records—melds Balkan folk, improvisation, and contemporary styles. In addition to her performance work, she composes soundscapes for theatre, scores for film and dance, and curates live series, notably the “Hear Sunday” chamber concert series in partnership with Clockshop.

Under the moniker Yvette Cornelia, she self-released an EP (Open It Up, 2013) and the full‑length album What Lies Ahead (2018), blending chamber-folk, experimental rock, and songwriting.

A graduate of UCLA (BA in American Literature) and CalArts (MFA in Performance and Composition), she also contributes to a wide variety of film/TV soundtracks—her solo viola is featured in Patriot (Amazon Prime)—and works remotely from her home studio.
