Cello

Nan Kemberling is an Atlanta-based cellist, educator, arranger, and singer-songwriter whose career seamlessly blends classical roots with contemporary creativity. Trained under Martha Gerschefski and earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees as an Osher Scholar at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, she serves as the principal cellist of the Atlanta Pops Orchestra and is a founding member of the innovative quartet Atlanta Celli—an ensemble that reimagines cello music across genres from rock to pop and classical

A passionate advocate for lifelong musical growth, Kemberling has spent over two decades teaching primarily adult beginners—from their mid‑20s to mid‑80s—and leading an all-adult cello choir that meets monthly, underscoring her mission to make music accessible to everyone. Onstage, she’s equally at home performing concertos, touring shows at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre, nightclub gigs, and masterclasses
