Elizabeth Nott is a Venezuelan-born percussionist, educator, and sound healer based in the UK. Initially studying modern languages, she shifted her focus to music after attending a percussion course at Morley College in 2001. She later earned a degree in ethnomusicology from SOAS, University of London, specializing in Middle Eastern percussion instruments such as the darbuka, riqq, bendir, and daf.
Nott has collaborated with artists including Ahmed Mukhtar, Maya Youssef, and Amira Kheir, performing at venues like the Royal Opera House and festivals such as WOMAD and Cully Jazz. Her solo works include the album Another Day (2020) and the track “One Rhythm One Voice” (2024), both highlighting her integration of rhythm, voice, and healing practices.
As an educator, she incorporates Dalcroze Eurythmics, body percussion, and South Indian solkattu into her teaching. Certified in trauma-informed sound healing and Reiki, Nott also facilitates community drum circles, emphasizing music's role in well-being and connection.
